What’s Been “H”appening July 23rd, 2006

by Chris Irwin, AGWA-Illinois Chapter H

What beautiful day first thing this morning.  The sun was shinning even as I awoke.  It would be a perfect day to ride.  Obviously every one else had the same idea.  The parking lot at Mickey D’s had more bikes than I had seen for a long, long time.  I was glad when we decided our dinning experience would be at R Place.  This is one of my favorite restaurants.  I love the route. 47 is a great road to ride!!  Our leader decided to take a different route to normal, which although very pretty, a gorgeous view but unbelievably slow, slow, slow!!    I had to whoop with joy when I finally got into top gear with only a few miles to go.  We were seated altogether.  There were seventeen sat around the big old table.   It was good to have our friend Bruce back with us. He was in four wheels and Kirsty rode with him.

Ken and Analea had battery problems so came in four wheels.

Roy with Trudy riding pillion,

Mac on his sidecar,

Chris on her trike,

Ed on his 1500,

Mike on his 1500,

Bill on his 1500,

Larry on his 1800,

Fritz on his 1800,

Greg ( not sure what he was riding)

Joe on his 1500

Russ on his 1500,

Joel was riding his Harley

The coffee was poured and the chatting commenced.  As always the dinning experience was good  we only had to decide weather to breakfast or lunch.  An assortment was ordered. and sadly it was soon time to leave.  Most of us had to return home to chores or other commitments. I did not manage to find out if anyone rode on.  That will have to be a story for another time.

The ride home was wonderful.  The weather was perfect, not too hot or cold. We took the faster route home as bu now the temps had picked up and you need to go over 50 miles an hour to keep cool enough to ride. We had a great time out and look forward to the next.  It helps when you have good people to ride with.

Until next time,

Keep the shiny side up!
